How Cooldown Speed works in Batomon Showdown

Cooldown Speed increases cast frequency. It divides the base cooldown instead of subtracting the same percentage from the timer.

Calculate it

Worked examples

Enter the percentage as a decimal: 20% is 0.20, and 100% is 1.00. Speed changes the base portion first; a positive flat addition comes afterward.

Examples checked against Build 25037381 · Balance 14
BaseSpeedFlat addedResult
4.5s +20% 0s 3.75s
4.5s +100% 0s 2.25s
4.5s +20% +1s 4.75s

Common mistake

+20% Cooldown Speed turns 4.5s into 3.75s: a 16.67% reduction in time, not 20%. +100% halves the time and doubles cast frequency.

Calculation order

Order and lower bounds

  1. Read the Batomon's base cooldown.
  2. Divide it by one plus Cooldown Speed.
  3. Add any positive flat cooldown above the base.
  4. Clamp the battle-unit result to at least 0.1 seconds.

Evidence and version limits

Official intent, build-backed order

The developer introduced Cooldown Speed as a frequency stat and used the example that +100% changes a six-second cooldown to three seconds. The formula and flat-modifier order were cross-checked in both cooldown calculation paths from Build 25037381 · Balance 14.

This page does not infer player-accessible negative-speed behavior, and it does not treat Charge, Triggering or Multicast as Cooldown Speed.
